Umbellifer Autumn Retreat

Tuesday 6th October 2026

 (Arrivals from 9.30am) Start 10am – 3pm. COST: £40

As Autumn gathers around us and the earth begins its quiet turning inward, we are invited into a different rhythm and way of being – to let go and lean in. As Gideon Heugh’s poem invites,

And so nature, weary from holding

the summer’s luscious measure,

folds into the ground,

lays her head down,

slows and deepens her breath.

Beloved, would that you learn from her

and fall into the sacredness of rest.

Rooted in Psalm 131 this retreat is an invitation to consider what it might mean to ‘fall into the sacredness of rest’ in God as we enter this season. As leaves fall and light wanes, we are reminded that descent is not loss or defeat but deepening. You are warmly invited to step into this season of senescencewith courage and tenderness, to release what has run its course, and to discover again the quiet strength of waiting in God.

Before we enter Winter consider waiting a while and what that might mean for you.

Retreat Includes: Guided reflections on Psalm 131, times of silence and spaciousness, optional creative engagement. Refreshments & lunch provided.

Cost: £40 (Refreshments, lunch and materials included) There are 12 spaces.
